Opti TM 3110 lathe. The machine features a hardened and ground Z-axis guideway, spindle nose Camlock DIN ISO 702-2 No. 4, and guaranteed spindle nose runout better than 0.015 mm. The feed gearbox operates smoothly with rounded gears in an oil bath and includes an emergency stop switch. The hardened main spindle is mounted in adjustable precision tapered roller bearings. Handwheels on the saddle include adjustable fine scales of 0.04 and 0.01 mm. The bed is a heavily rippled grey cast iron bed, induction-hardened and precision-ground. Runout on the chuck is better than 0.04 mm. It includes a four-jaw steel chuck and all guides are adjustable via wedge shims. The spindle nose is hardened. A lead screw for threading or automatic longitudinal turning drives operations; the lead screw and lead screw are supported by two sintered bearings. Automatic longitudinal and cross feeds are present. The tailstock is adjustable for taper turning +/- 5 mm. The tailstock quill and handwheel have an adjustable fine scale of 0.02 mm.
