The Opti TM 3110 is a metalworking lathe featuring a hardened and ground Z-axis guide rail, a Camlock spindle nose ISO 702-2 No. 4, and guaranteed spindle nose runout better than 0.015 mm. It uses a smooth oil-bath feed gear system and includes an emergency stop switch. The main spindle is hardened and mounted in adjustable precision taper-roller bearings. Hand wheels on the carriage provide fine-scale settings of 0.04 mm and 0.01 mm. The bed is a rugged gray-iron prism bed, induction-hardened and precision-ground, with spindle runout on the chuck better than 0.04 mm. Four steel holders are included, and all guides are adjustable via wedge shims. The spindle nose is hardened, and the leadscrew allows threading or automatic longitudinal turning. The leadscrew and feed rod are supported in two sintered bearings. Automatic longitudinal and cross feeds are provided. The tailstock is adjustable for taper turning within ±5 mm, and its quill and handwheel have an adjustable fine scale of 0.02 mm. Overall dimensions are approximately: length 1632 mm, width 770 mm, height 540 mm. Swing over bed 310 mm; swing over cross slide 216 mm; distance between centers 1000 mm; center height 155 mm. Spindle bore 38 mm; through-spindle bore 38 mm; Camlock nose ISO 702-2 No. 4. Metric thread pitches range from 0.4 to 10 mm/rev in 29 steps; imperial pitches are indicated as well. Travel: upper carriage 90 mm; cross slide 168 mm; bed carriage 850 mm. Longitudinal feed range 0.02–0.4 mm/rev with 24 longitudinal feeds; cross feed range 0.01–0.2 mm/rev. Electrical supply is 230 V and motor power is 1.5 kW.
